Building this arcade

This post walks through how the arcade portfolio site was assembled — from the design mockups, through the stack decisions, to the actual scaffolding.

The aesthetic

Neon, CRT scanlines, marquee tickers — a love letter to 80s arcade rooms. The trick was keeping all of it readable once the scanline filter was layered on.

The stack

Laravel 11, Filament 3, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker. Server-rendered Blade with Alpine.js for the small interactive bits.
